The camera is preferentially sensitive to infrared light, whereby an integrated infrared flash illuminates the person. A likewise integrated card reader serves to identify the person unambiguously. The infrared flash automatically adjusts itself to the amount of light present and can even be implemented seamlessly in rooms without light sources.
